The Exchange is locally owned and operated by two courageous women. In 2022 , Amy and Michelle went out on a limb, and jumped into business ownership. As lifelong friends from Vermont, Michelle and Amy were ready to work for themselves AND work for local Vermonters looking to outfit themselves, clear out their closets and earn extra income by selling items they no longer need.
We love that we are able keep this store going as we both know and love it.

Our story begins when Nancy Miller chose Essex Junction as the location for one of Vermont's finest retail consignment shops. Over the years The Exchange has helped to outfit countless women. Because of our long-time loyal following, The Exchange has continued to thrive over the last 45 years!
The Exchange was owned by Chandelle Johnson from 2016 to 2021.
As in years past, The Exchange continues to cater to the already vibrant 40s plus clientele with upscale, comfortable styles. We have recently added trending styles for wardrobing today's modern working women just starting out in their 20's. The Exchange is also proud to announce that we are now carrying activewear as well as plus sizes (1X-3X), while continuing to carry the classic styles you've always loved!
